Note: When I created this character I substituted the fu schtick 'friend of darkness' for one of his starting animal powers with permission from my GM.

Fu Chen was once an court officer serving a chinese magistrate in the 1840's. During his years of service he began to notice the signs of advancing corruption in the imperial court. Not knowing what to do, he sought the advice of the magistrate whom he served and for whom he had a great deal of respect. Master Teng advised him to leave the city and wander the country. Deep in the capital he could not truly learn to understand China or the problems that plagued it.

Taking his mentor's advice, Fu Chen left Peking and wandered out into the rural farm lands of China to see what he could learn. Eventually he joined up with a group of noble individuals seeking to right wrongs and do good. Fu Chen was very happy to again be helping the people. It brought back the sense of purpose he had lost once he became aware of the corruption in the courts and in the government. Now this group is seeking out the sources of corruption in the Shaolin monks and in the imperial courts themselves. To help them in this quest they must first find the monk known as Quan Lo...

The Feng Shui campaign in which I was playing Liang Fu Chen took place shortly before the creation of the Guiding Hand. The party had made contact with the Dragons and had tangled with some agents of the Lotus before discovering that they needed to band together the most powerful non-corrupt Shaolin they could find to restore the purity of that order and eventually China itself.
